PELAWAAN PENAJAAN BIASISWA YANG DI-PERTUAN AGONG SESI PENGAJIAN 2020/ 2021

Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) mempelawa semua warganegara Malaysia yang layak untuk memohon Biasiswa Yang di-Pertuan Agong (BYDPA) Sesi Pengajian 2020/2021 bagi mengikuti pengajian di peringkat Sarjana dan Doktor Falsafah di dalam dan luar negara dalam bidang Sains dan Teknologi, Ekonomi, Undang-Undang dan Kewangan Islam.

Permohonan boleh dibuat dengan mengisi borang secara dalam talian (online) melalui portal http://esilav2.jpa.gov.my mulai jam 5.00 petang, 10 Februari 2020 (Isnin) sehingga tarikh tutup permohonan pada 6 Mac 2020 (Jumaat).

Tarikh akhir bagi mengemukakan borang permohonan yang lengkap secara serahan tangan atau pos ialah pada 6 Mac 2020 (Jumaat).

KAEDAH PERMOHONAN

Permohonan adalah dipelawa daripada semua warganegara Malaysia yang berkelayakan untuk memohon Biasiswa Yang di-Pertuan Agong (BYDPA) Sesi Pengajian 2020/2021 bagi mengikuti pengajian di peringkat Sarjana dan Doktor Falsafah di dalam dan luar negara dalam bidang Sains dan Teknologi, Ekonomi, Undang-undang dan Kewangan Islam.

Keterangan mengenai Program BYDPA Sesi Pengajian 2020/2021, syarat-syarat permohonan dan panduan permohonan boleh diperolehi dengan melayari portal eSILA JPA melalui pautan di bawah mulai tarikh iklan ini disiarkan.

Borang permohonan hendaklah diisi secara dalam talian (on-line) melalui portal tersebut mulai jam 5.00 petang, 10 Februari 2020.

Shell Scholarship

The offering is for candidates to be sponsored 2 tiers A-levels and undergraduates in prestigious colleges and universities locally and overseas. This is subject to the scholastic performance of the student.

We look to sponsor students intending to pursue higher education in the following fields of study:

Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Electrical & Electronics, Environmental, Sustainable

Sciences: Geology, Geosciences, Geomatics, Geophysics, Data Science

Commercial: Business & Management, Digital Marketing

Eligibility

- Strong leadership skills and active participation in extracurricular activities such as societies and clubs, sports, etc.

- Not presently holding other scholarships/loans

- Consistently strong academic achievements as follows:

- Minimum 8As (A/A+) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) OR

- Excellent O-level grades at IGCSE (A*/A)

- Prior to application, ensure you are eligible to work in the country where the scholarship program is offered.

- Not exceeding 18 years of age at the enrolment date for the foundation studies

Application Overview

Important information:

Candidates needs to complete the Step 2: Online Assessment within 10 days of receiving them via email.

Only shortlisted applicants will be notified to progress to the next steps of application.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: Online Application

Complete your application online – note you can save time by connecting to your LinkedIn profile. Before applying, make sure you are eligible to work in Malaysia. The application shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Online Assessment

After you’ve submitted your application, you’ll be asked to complete three online assessments. Altogether, this will take about 40 minutes and will need to be completed within 10 days of receiving them.

Timed cognitive test

This will be a timed test that is divided into three sections, covering verbal skills, numerical skills, and abstract reasoning respectively. You would have 4 minutes to complete each section.

Working style assessment

This segment will assess your approach to working and your preferred behaviour across key personality factors. It will not be timed, and generally only takes 10-12 minutes to complete. We celebrate and value diversity at Shell, so we encourage you to be yourself when responding. You will then receive a ‘working styles’ report based on how you answered the questions.

Step 3: On-Demand Video Interview

If you have been shortlisted after STEP 2, you’ll be sent an invite to complete an on-demand video interview. This short, self-recorded video interview is an opportunity for you to tell us about yourself and your qualifications. You’ll also see some of our current graduates who will ask you a series of pre-recorded competency-based questions. You may record the interview at any internet-enabled location at a time most convenient to you. For each question, you’ll have 30 seconds to prepare and 3 minutes to record your answer.

Step 4: Final Interview

This is the last assessment stage, where you will be interviewed by the Scholarship Board of Trustees on scenario based questions and your academic & leadership experiences.

8. Star Education Fund
(29 Mei 2020)

The Star Education Fund scholarship is offered under the collaboration between Star Media Group with some of the best educational institutions in Malaysia to provide higher education opportunities to deserving young Malaysians.

Eligibility:

- Malaysian citizens not more than 25 years of age.

- Excel in extra-curricular activities or active in sports.

- Not bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or awards from other educational institutions or organisations.

- Possess reasonably good result in SPM / UEC or equivalent (for Foundation / Diploma courses).

- Possess reasonably good results in STPM / UEC or equivalent (for Degree courses).

Summary of PRE-UNIVERSITY

This is a thread about pre-university. Note that I make this as simple as possible (lol). Any errors please correct me.

1. A levels

- Based  on the UK education system

- 100% exam based(like SPM)

- Like STPM

- Minimum of 3 subjects

- 15-24 months long

- Structure:

* AS level is first half of syllabus (contribute 50% for final)

* A2 level is the second part of the syllabus (contribute 50% for final)

* Grading system (A* —> E)

- Recognised by many top universities worldwide(US, UK, Australia etc)

2. Canadian Pre-University (CPU)

- canadian based education system

- 6 subjects

- 12-15 months

Structure

- 70% coursework + 30% final exams

- Complete Ontario School Secondary Literacy Test

- Complete number of hours of Cummunity Service

3. Australian Matriculations (AUSMAT)

- Based on Australian education system

- Same as STPM and A-levels

- 5 subjects

- 10-12 months

- SAM and AUSMAT are the same except the structure

- SAM - 70% coursework 30% examination

- AUSMAT - 50% coursework 50% examination

- Grading system

1. 100% of best four subjects + 50% of weakest subjects = ATAR(Australian Tertiary Admission Rank)

- if you get 99.0 ATAR, means you performed better than 99% of your peers

- Recognised by many countries

4. Americal Degree Programme (ADP)

- based on America

- Subjects can be varied every sem

- 4 years

- its not like other programmes like STPM, A-level, SAM. Enrolling to ADP means you are already pursuing degree

- structure:

1. First two years - General and Core courses

2. Final two years - Major courses(advanced)

* grading system:

- 70% assesment

- 30% final exams

- Credit hours/credit is the ‘value’ of each subject

- You need 110-140 credits to graduate

- Final grades for each subject will be GPA, Grade Point Average(0.0 - 4.0)

- Final result will be CGPA, Cummulative GDPA(0.0 - 4.0)

5. International Baccalaureate (IB)

Credit Transfer

- you will need to study Malaysia before transfer to US to complete your degree

- Example:

1 + 3

- 1 year Malaysia, 3 years US

 2 + 2

-2 years Malaysia, 2 years US

Extremely flexible, you can take 2-6 subjects per sem.
